Silver Springs is an unincorporated town in Lyon County, Nevada. The community began in 1949, when Merle S. Peek and Bernard Klassen bought a large part of the area from Dick Conklin. Originally part of the Break-A-Heart Ranch, the community’s first subdivisions, commercial areas, and residential lots were surveyed and mapped out in 1950, and its first building was the Land Office, the second a restaurant and casino, and the third a seven-unit motel. The Lahontan Reservoir, Lahontan State Recreation Area, and Fort Churchill State Park are located nearby. Silver Springs is south of Wadsworth and Fernley, east of Sparks, and west of Fallon.
