Until 2010, Incline Village, Nevada was counted jointly with nearby Crystal Bay by the Census Bureau. The unincorporated community is located along the northern shores of Lake Tahoe in Washoe County. The main campus of Sierra Nevada College is located in Incline Village. Many of the property owners in the village are businesses and wealthy individuals from California, some of whom move to Incline Village, while others form shell corporations and primary residences for the purpose of avoiding higher California taxes, some of whom were found guilty of tax fraud. Mike Love, a member of the Beach Boys, has been a resident of Incline Village, and Warren Buffet owned a home there in the 1980s.
