Montana, which became one of the United States in 1889, is served by the capital of Helena. The name comes from the Spanish word for mountain, and its official nickname is the Treasure State, though most people know it as Big Sky Country. It is home to Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, and the Battle of Little Bighorn.
