The website of the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is a great research resource for anybody interested in this mid 20th century American President. Situated in St. Louis, the Botanical Garden was founded in 1859, and lays claim to being the oldest botanical garden in continuous operation within the United States, and a National Historic Landmark. With nearly eighty acres of horticultural display, including a fourteen-acre Japanese strolling garden, historic architecture, and a large collection of rare and endangered flora, the MBG has two other properties outside the city limits: Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House and Shaw Nature Reserve.
