Warson Woods is a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. The town first incorporated as the Town of Royal Oak in 1936. Due to confusion with Royal Oaks, Michigan, the board of trustees voted to change the town's name to the Village of Warson Woods in 1941. Additional sections were annexed in the early 1950s, including an island in the middle of a lake, which now serves as Royal Oaks Park. In 1957, the village became a fourth-class city. Surrounding and nearby communities include Brentwood, Crystal Lake Park, Glendale, Huntleigh, Kirkwood, Oakland, Rock Hill, and Webster Groves. The city of St. Louis is twelve miles to the east.
