With a population of just over five hundred in the 2010 census, the city of Summersville, Missouri spans both Shannon County and Texas County. The community was founded in the 1800s. Still operational, the Summersville Mill was built in the 1890s, replacing a smaller grist mill that had been in operation since 1886. Summersville is situated at the intersection of Missouri Highways 17 and 106. Surrounding communities include Alley Spring, Arroll, Eunice, Hartshorn, Midvale, and Pine Crest.
