The small village of Rayville is in Ray County, Missouri. The community was laid out in 1871, and named for the county. Missouri State Route C passes through the town, while Route U intersects with Route C in the north part of town. Nearby communities include Dockery to the east, Vibbard to the northwest, Crystal Lakes and Wood Heights to the west, Elkhorn to the southwest, and Richmond to the southeast. Kansas City is thirty-nine miles southwest of Rayville. The Crooked River Conservation Area is north of the village.
