Named for James Jennings, a Virginian farmer and merchant, who moved to the area in 1839, Jennings was incorporated as a city in 1946. Jennings is in St. Louis County, Missouri, and a suburb of the larger City of St. Louis, to the south. Jennings is surrounded by Castle Point, Glasgow Village, and Velda Village. The Mississippi River is to the east, Interstate Highway 70 to the south, and Interstate Highway 270 to the north.
