Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri is an unincorporated area in Pulaski County surrounding and including the United States Army installation by that name. The military installation was created in December of 1940, and named for the former chief of staff, General Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is primarily a training facility, dating back to its origins in World War II.
