The town of Lenox, Massachusetts, located in Berkshire County, includes the villages of Lenoxdale and New Lenox. It was settled in 1750 and incorporated in 1767 and meant to be named Lennox, in honor of Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of Richmond and Lennox but was spelled wrong by a clerk on the official paperwork.
