Known for its Victorian homes, many of which are now operated and bed and breakfasts, Pacific Grove is a coastal town in Monterey County, California. The city began in 1875 as a Methodist summer camp, which was visited by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1879, and later John Steinbeck lived there for a number of years when it had grown into an artists colony.
