The Executive Branch is one of the three branches of American government which make up the “balance of power.” This branch is headed up by the President of the United States, who is also the head of state and the Commander-in-Chief of the military. Aside from the President and Vice President, other members of the Executive Branch include the Cabinet, the Justice Department, Homeland Security, and the armed services.
