Canadian singer and songwriter Neil Young was born on November 12, 1945 in Toronto, Ontario. His father, Scott Young, was a prominent sportswriter and journalist. Neil contracted polio in 1951 and around that time, he was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He also has epilepsy. When he was twelve, his parents divorced, and he and his mother moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has three children, two sons, both of whom have cerebral palsy and a daughter with epilepsy. He has been married and divorced three times.
