Country and country-rock singer Dwight Yoakam was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on October 23, 1956. Soon afterwards, the family moved to Columbus, Ohio. He began college at Ohio State but soon dropped out to try for fame and fortune in Nashville, Tennessee. But due to the fact that his music was more music for the then-"Urban Cowboy" type, he moved to Los Angeles. He is the owner of the frozen food brand called "Bakersfield Biscuits."
