Rudolf Joseph Lorenz Steiner was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer, architect, and esotericist, who founded a spiritual movement known as anthroposophy, with its roots in German idealist philosophy and theosophy. He was also the founder of the Waldorf schools, of which there are now more than a thousand worldwide.
