Alicia Silverstone, born in San Francisco on October 4, 1976, is a first generation American. Her father was a British citizen and her mother was born in Scotland, and both were conservative Jews. She was raised in Hillsborough, California, an affluent suburb. She is both an environmental and animal rights activist, and she and her husband live in an eco-friendly home in Los Angeles. They had a son in 2011.
