Ramon Antonio Estevez, professionally known as Martin Sheen, was born August 3, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio. His mother wan an Irish immigrant, and his father a Spanish immigrant, and they lived in Bermuda until shortly before Sheen was born. He had eight brothers and a sister and is a citizen of both America and Ireland. He has been married to his wife, Janet, since 1961, and they have four children, each of whom acts for a living. He is a political activist and has been arrested 66 times for civil disobedience.
