William Shakespeare (baptized April 26, 1564 - April 23, 1616) was probably born on April 23, 1564, as deduced from his baptism date. He was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He is credited with having written 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and several other poems and sonnets. He married 26 year old Anne Hathaway when he was 18, and they had three children.
