Mickey Rooney (September 23, 1920 - April 6, 2014) was born Joseph Yule, Jr. in Brooklyn, New York. His father was an immigrant from Glasgow, Scotland, and his mother was from Kansas City, Missouri, and they were both in vaudeville. Mickey was born during one of their tours, and when he was 17 months old, he made his first stage appearance. His father left the little family when Mickey was three years old. He was married eight times and has nine children. He died at his home of natural causes at the age of 93, leaving an estate of $18,000 to the only child he had not disinherited.
