Born October 28, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia, Julia Roberts is the daughter of playwrights. Her parents divorced in 1972, and her mother moved to Smyrna, where Julia went to school. Her father died of cancer in 1977. She was engaged to actor Kiefer Sutherland but broke up three days prior to their wedding. She married singer Lyle Lovett in Marion, Indiana in 1993, and they divorced in 1995. She is a practicing Hindu. She married her second husband, Daniel Moder, in 2002 at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico. They have three children.
