Actor and comedian John Ritter (September 17, 1948 - September 11, 2003) was born in Burbank, California. His father was singing cowboy Tex Ritter. Although he was best known for playing Jack Tripper on Three's Company, a weekly television sitcom in the 1980s, he majored in psychology and minored in architecture at the University of Southern California. He was married to actress Nancy Morgan for 19 years, and they had three children. Three years after the divorce was final, he married Amy Yasbeck, and they had one daughter. He died of a previously undiagnosed aortic dissection.
