The English rock band Queen was founded in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. They incorporate traditional rock, progressive and hard rock, and heavy metal and the band has released a total of 18 #1 singles, 18 #1 albums, and 10 #1 DVDs. Although many believed that the band would cease to exist after Mercury died from complications of AIDS, that was not the case at all. They continue to issue hits, more than 40 years after their founding.
