Prince Rogers Nelson, who went by just his first name, Prince, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 7, 1958. His father was a songwriter and pianist and his mother was a jazz singer. His first album, "For You," debuted in 1978, and he became an actor in his own movie, "Purple Rain," in 1984. He changed his name to a symbol for several years, calling that symbol "Love Symbol #2." He was married twice and had a son who was born with Pfeiffer syndrome and died a week after his birth. In 2001, Prince became a Jehovah's Witness. He was both a Minnesota Vikings fan and a vegetarian. On April 21, 2016, Prince died at Paisley Park, his home and recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Several weeks later, autopsy results were announced and it was found that he died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, which was self-administered.
