Tom Petty, born in Gainesville, Florida on October 20, 1950, is an singer, songwriter, and musician who plays numerous instruments. He is the frontman for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and was a founding member of the Traveling Wilburys who used the name Charlie T. Wilbury. In 1987, his house in Encino, California was set on fire by an arsonist. He was married to his first wife for 22 years, most of which he spent on the road or recording in the studio. They have two children. He has been married to his second wife since 2001.
