Dolly Parton, born January 19, 1946 in Sevierville, Tennessee, the daughter of a tobacco farmer and his wife. Her grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher, and many of her singing was done in church. She married Carl Dean in 1966 in Ringgold, Georgia, two years after they met at a laundromat on her first day in Nashville. They celebrated 45 years of marriage in May 2011. She created Dollywood, a theme park in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains.
