Founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio, the industrial rock project Nine Inch Nails is unusual in that Reznor is the only official member of it, though he has shown an affinity for collaborating with other musicians. The project has done nine major studio releases. Trent went on hiatus from 2009 to 2013, though he and his wife, Mariqueen Maandig formed another group. He is a recovering addict and alcoholic and lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
