Charles Miles Manson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1934. Although he was also a musician, he is best known as the leader of communal group known as the Manson Family, who was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of Sharon Tate and Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, which were carried out by members of his group. Manson believed that he was led to order the murders by secret messages contained within songs contained in a Beatles album. Before the murders, he was an unemployed former convict, and a singer-songwriter on the fringe of the music industry in Los Angeles, California.
