Martial arts movie star Bruce Lee (November 27, 1940 - July 20, 1973) was born Lee Jun-fan in the Chinatown district of San Francisco to parents who were from Hong Kong. His father, a Cantonese opera singer, was on a year-long tour in the United States when Bruce was born, and the family returned to Hong Kong when Bruce was still a baby. He took martial arts from a young age. He moved back to the United States when he was 18 and moved from San Francisco to Seattle. He was married in 1964 and fathered two children. Lee died of a acute cerebral edema.
