Princess Grace of Monaco, born Grace Kelly (November 12, 1929 - September 14, 1982) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When she was 20, she began her successful acting career. While in Cannes in 1955, Grace met Prince Rainier III of Monaco, he proposed to her the next year. They were married in a wedding ceremony watched on television by 30 million people. They had two daughters and a son. She died in a car accident which was caused by the fact that she had a stroke while driving home from France. Her younger daughter was in the car and broke her neck in the accident, though she did recover.
