Judas Priest is a heavy metal band that was formed in Birmingham, England in 1969. Known for its twin lead guitars, the band found success in the 1980s and, in 1989, they were named as defendants in an unsuccessful legal suit alleging that subliminal messages on their albums led to the suicide attempts of two young men. The band has experienced a great deal of turnover during its career.
