The English progressive rock band known as Jethro Tull was founded in 1967, when they began playing blues rock. They named the back after a British agriculturalist who helped usher in the British agricultural revolution. Their style developed into a unique one, with Ian Anderson featured on flute, and by 1971, with the release of the album Aqualung, they were ensconced among the stars of rock.
