He was raised Christian, his parents having been converted by Billy Graham. When his parents divorced, eight-year-old Hugh stayed in Australia with his father and brothers while his mother and his two sisters moved back to England. He has been married to an Australian actress since 1996, and he designed her engagement ring. Additionally, their wedding bands are inscribed in Sanskrit with a phrase that translates to “We dedicate our union to a greater source.” They have two children and live in Australia.
