Actress Audrey Hepburn (May 9, 1929 - January 20, 1993) was born in Brussels, Belgium and named Audrey Ruston. Her father changed their last name to Hepburn-Ruston, after James Hepburn, the third husband of Mary, Queen of Scots who he believed to be an ancestor. Her father was a philanderer, and he left the family after Audrey’s mother discovered that he was carrying on with one of their nannies; Audrey found him in Dublin, Ireland in the 1960s, and she supported him until he died. Trained in ballet, she eventually ended up in movies and became a star. She was married twice and had two children. She died of appendiceal cancer.
