Danny Glover was born in San Francisco, California on July 22, 1946 and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents were both postal workers and active members of the NAACP. When he was young, Danny was diagnosed with epilepsy but says that he uses “a type of self-hypnosis” to avoid seizures and that he has not have one since he was 34. In 2009, he signed an open letter known as the Toronto Declaration, which objected to a “celebratory spotlight on Tel Aviv” at the Toronto International Film Festival. He was married to his first wife, Asake, for 24 years. They had one child before they were divorced in 1999. He married Elaine Cavalleiro in 2009.
