Frances Ethel Gumm, who would later change her name to Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 - June 22, 1969) was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the youngest child of Ethel and Francis Gumm. Vaudevillians, they moved to Lancaster, California when Judy was four. TShe starred in too many movies to list here, and she engaged in a struggle with her addiction and alcoholism most of her life. She was afflicted by, at various times, depression, hepatitis, pleurisy, and cirrhosis. She was married five times and had three children. She died in London, England of a drug overdose at the age of 47.
