Gerald Brosseau Gardner (June 13, 1884 - February 12, 1964), also known as Scire, was the founder of the tradition known as Gardnerian Wicca, and is variously credited with being the man who brought the neopagan religion of Wicca to public attention, or as the one who founded it, as an amalgamation of Celtic myths, Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, ceremonial magic, and the teachings of Aleister Crowley. Born in Blundellsands, Lancashire, England. He died of a heart attack in 1964, and was buried in Tunisia.
