William Clark Gable (February 1, 1901 - November 16, 1960), who would one day be known as Clark Gable, was born in Cadiz, Ohio. His birth certificate erroneously listed him as a female. His mother died when he was ten months old, and it is believed, in retrospect, that it was a brain tumor that killed her. He was dyslexic and had a fear of flying, opting to travel via train whenever possible. He was married five times and had a daughter conceived during an affair with actress Loretta Young. He died in West Hollywood, California from a coronary thrombosis at the age of 59. Four months after his death, his only son was born in the same hospital in which Clark had died.
