Laurence Fishburne III was born in Augusta, Georgia on July 30, 1961. He has played numerous big roles, but perhaps is best known for playing Morpheus in the "Matrix" trilogy. His mother was a math and science teacher and his father was a juvenile corrections officer. They divorced when Laurence was a child, and he moved with his mother to Brooklyn, New York The actor has two adult children from his first marriage and a daughter born in 2007 to him and his second wife. They live in Hollywood and also have a residence in New York.
