Robert Duvall was born in San Diego on January 5, 1931, the son of a United States Navy admiral from Virginia and a mother who was related to Robert E. Lee. He was raised in the Christian Science faith, and while he has said that he still subscribes to that religion, he doesn't go to church. He spent his childhood years moving about the country, but much of it was spent in Annapolis, Maryland. He has been married four times. He is a conservative.
