Born Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. in Neptune Township, New Jersey on November 17, 1944, Danny DeVito is a comedian and actor. He grew up in Asbury Park. He first rose to fame in “Taxi”, which ran on television from 1978 to 1983, winning him an Emmy and a Golden Globe. DeVito has directed numerous movies as well, including “Throw Momma From the Train” and “The War of the Roses.” An outspoken Democrat, he is married to comedienne Rhea Pearlman, who had a recurring role on “Taxi” as his girlfriend, Zena, and they have three children.
