Natalie Cole (February 6, 1950 – December 31, 2015) esd the oldest daughter of Nat King Cole, was born to Nat King Cole and Maria Hawkins Ellington in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, majoring in child psychology. Her first commercial musical success, “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” in the 1970s was followed by “Inseparable” and “Our Love.” She struggled with drug addiction and wen into recovery in 1983. She was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and also had a kidney transplant as well as idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension. She died as a result of congestive heart failure.
