Known as Nat King Cole (March 17, 1919 - February 15, 1965), Nathaniel Adams Coles, who was born in Montgomery, Alabama, was a jazz pianist and vocalist. He pioneered television, being one of the first black Americans to have his own variety show. He had five children, including Natalie who grew up to be a popular singer. He also adopted Carole who died of lung cancer in 2009, Nat Kelly Cole who died of AIDS at 36, and twin girls Timolin and Casey. He died of lung cancer.
