Political satirist, comedian, writer, and host of “The Colbert Report” Stephen Colbert, born May 13, 1964 in Washington, D.C. was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He was an understudy for Steve Carell at Second City Chicago. After some time with a segment on “The Daily Show,” Colbert left to spin off his own series. He ran for President in 2008, remaining in character, and testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration in character as well. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey with his wife and their three children. In April 2004, he took over as the host of the Late Show on CBS.
