Russian-born Yul Brynner (July 11, 1920 - October 10, 1985) was born in Russia and grew up in various places, including China, where he attended school and Paris. He acted on both stage and screen and was also an author, a musician, and a photographer. He was probably most well-known for his role of the King of Siam (modern day Thailand) in “The King and I,” though he was also in other major motion pictures including “The Magnificent Seven” and “The Ten Commandments.” Additionally, he played his role from “The King and I” more than 4,500 on the live stage. He was married four times, fathered three children, and adopted two more.
