American actor and movie star Humphrey Bogart (December 25, 1899 - January 14, 1957) was born in New York City. His father was a cardiopulmonary surgeon and his mother was an artist. He was first an actor and then a leading man. The highlights of his 75-movie career were “Casablanca,” “High Sierra,” “The Maltese Falcon,” and “Key Largo,” just to name a few. He met and fell in love with co-star Lauren Bacall. She was 19 and he was 44. In 1945, Bogart divorced his third wife, and Bogie and Bacall were married at a friend's farm in Ohio. They remained married until his death from esophageal cancer. They had a son and a daughter, Stephen and Leslie.
