Created as a garage band in 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey, Blues Traveler uses rock, blues, psychedelic rock, and soul to entertain their fans. Their live style is improvisational, and their mainstream popularity came with songs including “Run-Around,” “But Anyway,” and “Hook.” Front man John Popper is the lead singer and harmonica player. Every year since 1994, with the exception of 1999 when they lost their bassist, Bobby Sheehan to an overdose of drugs, they have headlined at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado for Independence Day.
