Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was a Russian-German occultist who, along with Henry Steel Olcott, established the Theosophical Society, a research and publishing institute. Blavatsky and her writings were influential in forming the basis for the racial ideology of Nazi Germany, as well as Buddhist modernism, Hindu reform movements, and the New Age movement.
