Dame Julie Andrews, (born October 1, 1935) in Surrey, England, is a movie and stage actress, dancer, and children's book author. She began acting as a child in 1948 and moved to stage shows including "Camelot" and "My Fair Lady" before making her movie debut in "Mary Poppins" in 1964. She went on to make movies including "Torn Curtain," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and "The Sound of Music." She was married to her first husband for eight years and to her second husband, Blake Edwards, for 41 years until he died in 2010.
