Gillian Anderson, whose first internationally noticed role was as Special Agent Dana Scully on the American television series "The X-Files," was born in Chicago on August 9, 1968. She moved with her family to Puerto Rico and then London as a child. She returned to the United States and graduated from high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has been married three times and has three children, a daughter, Piper, and two sons, Oscar and Felix.
