Born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 8, 1947, Gregory "Gregg" Allman is a blues singer, guitarist, keyboarder, and songwriter who was a founding member, along with his brother, Duane Allman, of the Allman Brothers Band. He has been married six times, including once to Cher, and has five children by five different women. He struggled with his drug addiction and has been clean and sober since the mid-1990s. He was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2007. He underwent a liver transplant in the summer of 2010. He has been in four movies, including "Rush," and has written an autobiography entitled "My Cross to Bear."
